N.) foundered in position (32.18.02N 023.11.30E) Off Algiers Western Mediterranean off Algiers, hit by French shore batteries on the7th November 1942. With destroyer 'Malcolm' landing troops at Algiers during Operation 'Torch', the Allied invasion of French North Africa (Campaign) Vichy-French shore batteries. 9 Ratings killed and sank while under tow to Gibraltar, from HMS Zetland the next day. |
