fog with USS Collett (DD 730) on 19 July 1960 while en-route to San Diego
for decommissioning, 11 of USS Ammen's crew were killed in this accident. Decommissioned 15 September 15 1960. Stricken 1 October 1960. Sold 21 March 1964 and broken up for scrap. |
