History | USS Duncan (Lt. Cdr Edmund .B. Taylor) made a daring one ship attack and found herself between Japanese and American battle groups resulting in receiving more than 50 hits. When she sank 43 men and 5 officers were lost also. 195 men were rescued from the shark infested waters by USS McCalla (Lt.Cdr. W.G. Cooper). |
