USS Chew was commissioned at the and of
WW1, and left out of action. She was decommissioned at San Diego
on 1 June 1922, and called back into service on 14 October 1940.
She was in Pearl Harbor during the japanese raid, downing one
attacker. She spent most of the war in Pearl Harbor filling
training duties, and occasional escort duties. She was
decommissioned in Philadelphia on 15 October 1945, Stricken on 1
November 1945 and sold for scrap on 4 October 1946. |
